Our Foundation

The beginning of our educational journey

Since our inception in 2009, Horizon College of Business and Technology has been dedicated to bridging the gap between academic potential and professional reality. Based in the heart of Malabe, we began with a simple mission to provide Sri Lankan students with practical high-impact training that leads directly to career success.

Over the years, we have evolved into a specialised hub for vocational education. We recognised early on that the modern workforce requires more than just traditional study because it demands specific hands-on skills and internationally recognised standards. This realisation led us to forge strong partnerships with global and national bodies to ensure our students receive the very best qualifications.

HCBT History
2009

The Foundation

HCBT was established to offer focused vocational training with the goal of providing school leavers with a path to immediate skill development.

2011

National Recognition

Becoming a TVEC approved centre was a major milestone for us. This accreditation ensures that our training programmes and facilities meet the strict quality standards required by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka.

2015

Expansion into Early Childhood Education

Recognising the growing need for professional educators we launched our NVQ aligned Teacher Training programmes. Today we are proud to be a primary choice for aspiring preschool teachers and childcare managers across the island.

2025

Global Standards with Cambridge

Our appointment as an authorised Cambridge Assessment English partner transformed our language department. This allowed us to offer world renowned English qualifications right here in Malabe helping students achieve global fluency.
