Conceptually, the establishment of a university style education institute was derived from a long period of gestation for several reasons. One overarching consideration was finding a suitable green and quite location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The other was to have a purpose built infrastructure to house an excellent faculty providing a congenial teaching & learning ambiance for students to experience the university life-style. Now we could feel happy that at Horizon Campus located in Malabe, we could find all these and more with ultra-modern lecture halls, state-of-the-art facilities, and a sport complex. I have brought to Horizon Campus a wealth of experience I gathered from Oxford Business College, Colombo 7, whereas its founder and MD, I was able to develop it to be the market leader in the ABE – UK programme and produce world award winners from its inception of the College seven years ago.
I am of resolute confidence that with well qualified, experienced and dedicated staff I have I could achieve greater heights at Horizon Campus. Horizon Campus commences with a variety of disciplines conducted by its School of ICT, School of Education and Teacher Training, and School of Psychology. In its second phase by 2012, HORIZON CAMPUS looks forward to establish the School of Law, School of Engineering, School of Built Environment and School of Bio-Science. All these programmes are degree programmes with awarding body being a foreign University which is recognised internationally including the UGC (Sri Lanka).
In addition, newly established (In 2018) HORIZON INSTITUTE OF APPLIED SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (IAST) focus on upgrading skill standards relevant to the International job market requirement. We specially develop our tertiary & vocational education programmes to produce competent skill personal in order to face future economic challenges with fast growing world economy.
